WalkCue
Spoken street cues for blind and low-vision walkers
Visit walkcue.comAbout WalkCue
WalkCue is a project in development for blind and low-vision walkers. Camera glasses, or a phone on a chest strap, look at the way ahead, and WalkCue speaks short cues about what matters, in the ear on the side it is on. A small model checks each frame about ten times a second on the phone, so no video is uploaded and it works offline. It reports a traffic light's color but never says a crossing is safe, and it is meant to be used with a cane or guide dog, never instead. It can also guide a hand to things such as a phone or keys. The prototype works today, and a supervised pilot with orientation and mobility instructors is the next step. WalkCue is operated by Like a King Inc.
