Use AnimatedWebs in Warp

Warp adds the AnimatedWebs MCP server from its MCP servers page: click + Add and paste one JSON entry with the URL. Warp runs the OAuth sign-in in your browser and stores the credentials on your device.

Set up AnimatedWebs in Warp

Server address: https://mcp.animatedwebs.com

  1. 1

    Open the MCP servers page

    Use Settings, Agents, MCP servers, or Warp Drive, Personal, MCP Servers, or search the Command Palette for Open MCP Servers.

  2. 2

    Add the server

    Click + Add and paste this JSON. The key AnimatedWebs is just a display name.

    Warp MCP server JSON
    {
      "AnimatedWebs": {
        "url": "https://mcp.animatedwebs.com"
      }
    }
  3. 3

    Sign in

    A server started without saved credentials opens the browser sign-in. Approve access with your AnimatedWebs account; Warp keeps the credentials on your device.

  4. 4

    Ask the Warp agent

    In an agent conversation, ask for a template and let Warp call the AnimatedWebs tools.

Headless or CI? Use an API key from your dashboard instead of the browser sign-in.

Check that it works

  • The MCP servers page lists AnimatedWebs and shows whether it is running. A running server displays its available tools and resources, and you can Start or Stop it from the same page.
  • Ask it to run the get_account tool from the animatedwebs server. A reply with your plan and today's usage means the connection and your sign-in both work.

Three requests to try

Paste one into Warp. Each one makes it call real AnimatedWebs tools.

example prompt 1
Use AnimatedWebs to find a template for a developer tools startup and scaffold the project in this directory.
example prompt 2
Search AnimatedWebs for a hero video background for a ski resort and print the link and an HTML snippet.
example prompt 3
Get the AnimatedWebs style reference for a Linear-like site and write the colors as a .env style token list.

If something goes wrong in Warp

The server will not start
Click View Logs for the server on the MCP servers page. Remove any API keys from logs before you share them.
Sign-in keeps failing
Warp's docs say to delete locally stored MCP auth tokens with rm -rf ~/.mcp-auth and sign in again. That removes tokens for every MCP server on the machine.
The agent ignores the tools
Warp's docs note that some models work better with MCP servers than others. Try another model.
OAuth does not work on your setup
Use the headers form with your API key instead of the browser sign-in.

Questions about Warp and AnimatedWebs

Which option do I choose when adding the server?+

The one that Warp labels Streamable HTTP or SSE Server (URL). With the JSON editor, a url key is enough.

Do I sign in again on a second computer?+

Yes. Warp's docs say credentials are stored on your device, so a new machine needs a new sign-in. You can revoke them from the MCP Servers pane.

Can I paste a config from another tool?+

Warp's docs say it accepts configurations copied from most MCP clients. Paste the AnimatedWebs entry shown above, which is the plain name-and-url form.

Where are the logs?+

Behind the View Logs button for the server on the MCP servers page. Remove any API keys from a log before you share it.

Facts checked on
